Summary: Howard County Police responded to reports of a burglary in progress at 8859 Blake Green Lane. The caller, along with her baby and cat, locked themselves in a room after hearing loud noises and seeing shadows downstairs. Additional units responded, and a request for a canine unit was made but none were available. Further investigation revealed a smashed window and noises that later ceased. The caller and her children moved to the hallway for safety. After a thorough check, officers determined the disturbance was caused by an unsecured balloon hitting a fan. The scene was declared clear, and no suspects were found.
