The Coast Guard, the New Jersey State Police and local agencies have been searching Manahawkin Bay after a caller reported seeing someone jump from the Route 72 causeway on Tuesday night, Nov. 25, Stafford police said. The call came in at 10:10 p.m. Police found a gray Toyota Camry belonging to a 19-year-old Monmouth County man unoccupied at the top of the bridge, Stafford police said. The search with helicopters, drones and boats was still underway at 9 a.m. Wednesday. Authorities are asking that no civilian drones be flown over the area. Ship Bottom and Barnegat police have joined the Stafford police and other agencies in the operation. Formally known as The Dorland J.
