Fire crews were sent to an apartment near Greenwich Street after residents reported the smell of burning, like rubber or smoke, coming from the kitchen area and light smoke in the unit. Responders checked the multi‑story building, focusing on the third‑floor rear apartment. They later suspected the odor and light smoke were coming from a wall‑mounted electric heater. A separate call reported a vehicle that had gone up onto the sidewalk and become stuck between a pole and a fence, with possible smoke from the vehicle but no reported injuries.
