Small mechanical fire in apartment garage electrical room

Fire crews responded to reports of smoke coming from an electrical room in a parking garage on the Clay Street side of an apartment complex. Crews initially did not see smoke, then received reports of heavy smoke from the electrical room on a lower parking level. They prepared water supply and coordinated operations while checking the garage. The source was determined to be an overheated vehicle causing a smoke condition rather than an active fire. A small mechanical fire in the subfloor area (P2 level) was reported but had been brought under control. Ventilation was planned to clear the smoke, and the incident was later recalled with a few units remaining on scene to monitor conditions.
