Tent fire outside commercial garage door

A passing officer and several callers reported a fire at a commercial building near Northeast Couch Street and Northeast 13th Avenue in Portland. A tent outside a garage door was on fire and flames damaged the garage door, but the concrete building itself did not catch fire. Fire crews arrived, put out the tent fire, checked the inside of the building for any spread of the fire, and confirmed there was no extension into the structure. The incident was then scaled back, with only the local station remaining on scene and an investigator to follow up.
