Grain facility structure fire at Depot Street
Depot St, Pacific Junction, IA 51561 - 5/27/2026 01:53 PM
As discussed during the dispatch call, radio traffic indicates firefighters are responding to a structure fire at or near a grain or industrial facility on Depot Street. Crews report active flames and significant heat at the base of a grain leg or conveyor system, including underground pits and belts. Multiple units are operating aerial equipment and hose lines to cool the structure and surrounding area, with water shuttles and tankers moving to and from the scene. At one point, an engine becomes stuck and assistance is requested to pull a truck out. Temperatures in the affected area are reported to have dropped by more than 100 degrees, but there is still burning in part of the structure that crews cannot yet reach with aerial equipment. All details are based on radio communications and may describe an ongoing or potential fire response.
