House fire with heavy smoke on Garnet Avenue

As discussed during the dispatch call, fire and rescue were dispatched to a reported fire alarm at a residence on Garnet Avenue Southwest in Melrose. Responding officers reported heavy smoke coming from the building and smoke inside the home, and evacuated the occupants while crews investigated and managed the scene.
