Honestly I can see where this could happen. Doesn't mean the parents are neglecting their child. My grandson would do the same thing, they bought several different kinds of locks. Kids are smart and watch everything you do, so they learn how to unlock doors etc. They finally got one like the hotels have, it's placed up high and slides over the door.
