Driver injured in crash with major vehicle damage

Emergency medical staff are bringing a 23-year-old man to IU Health Methodist Hospital after a motor vehicle collision. He was the restrained driver in a vehicle with heavy damage and about one foot of intrusion on the passenger side. He did not lose consciousness and did not hit his head. He is stable, with normal breathing and blood pressure, and has an intravenous line in place. He reports shoulder pain, likely from a possible dislocation, along with neck pain and chest pain from an abrasion on the right side of his chest. Airbags deployed on the passenger side but not on the driver side. He is awake, alert, and speaking, and his vital signs are within normal limits.
