Traffic stop finds person wanted for vehicle theft

As discussed during the dispatch call, officers conducted a traffic stop on a red Mercedes near Cleveland Street and Kennedy Avenue in Hammond. A 911 hangup was also reported from a business location on Indianapolis Boulevard. The stopped driver was identified and reportedly wanted out of Illinois for vehicle theft with full extradition, and another unit was requested to assist.
