Recycling bin fire extinguished on Sams Valley Road

As discussed during the dispatch call, fire crews responded to a report of a recycling bin on fire near Sams Valley Road in the Gold Hill area. The caller had moved the bin from dry grass onto the roadway, and a passing water truck helped. An off-duty officer and responding units later confirmed the flames appeared to be out, and a state forestry unit was reported arriving to assist the fire investigation.
