Basement fire contained in three-story Baltimore home

Fire crews in Baltimore responded to a fire in a two-and-a-half story wood-frame residential building near Walbrook Ave and Denison St. Smoke was visible from the first floor and upper floors, and fire conditions were found in the basement. Engine companies advanced hose lines to the basement from different sides of the building while truck companies opened windows and checked all floors. Occupants were reported out of the building and later located on the rear side. A primary search of all floors found no trapped occupants. The fire was contained to a service room in the center of the basement, and remaining smoke on the upper floors was light by the end of operations.
