Fire crews check smoke odor at apartment building

Fire crews were sent to a two-story multi-family residential building near Harris Avenue Northwest in Albuquerque after a report of smoke or a smoke-like odor in one apartment. On arrival they saw no visible fire, and one occupant was outside the building. Firefighters went to an upstairs apartment to investigate the reported smell of smoke and possible paint odor, checked for gas levels, and looked for any problems in the basement, including leaking water heaters. The incident involved investigation of smoke and odor with water issues in the basement, and no active fire was found.
